When I started the Keto Diet I tried a bunch of “fake carb” recipes and was turned off by every one. Most recipes called for either artificial sweeteners or almond flour, I don’t like either. I just don’t like their tastes. I quickly threw in the towel on any keto-carb-like recipes. It actually helped me dive head first into the keto diet and reverted my tongue’s sweet receptors to their natural states.
Even though I gave up on sweets and breads, I was still being stalked by social media feeds claiming to have found the perfect keto-donut, fluffy keto-pancakes, or crispy keto-cookies. I kept ignoring the temptation to try my luck at another “keto-bake” until I couldn’t take it any longer.
I got tired of seeing all these recipes that I felt were missing something and then my wife pushed me over the edge by saying, “You know what? I think you don’t want to make any keto sweets or breads cause you don’t think you can.”
She was right! I attempted about 10 recipes and didn’t like a single one. So, I decided at that moment to (a) not tell my wife she was right (b) deny wholeheartedly that I didn’t believe in myself (c) lie and tell her she had a booger in her nose (d) maybe one day try another “keto-bake”, maybe.
Now here we are, 8 pizza attempts later, I finally have Keto Crust Pizza that stands it’s ground when put against any traditionally made pizza!
